Our Vision

Full Bloom’s founding families in 2014

Our Future

A couple decades into this ongoing experiment in community living, our member-owners are now in mid-life. While we’ve got many robust years ahead of us, we’d like to invite folks from a younger generation into our community so that this land may continue to be stewarded by humans concerned with interpersonal and ecological wellbeing for generations to come.

In order to fulfill this dream, we are planning to build a new residence. While it may be a few years before it is ready for inhabitation, we are building momentum and seeking funding for this new home-to-be.

Our Roots

Full Bloom was founded in 2005 by a group of friends who met as residents at Green Gulch Farm, a San Francisco Zen Center community. While there, they learned a lot about Buddhism, nonviolence, permaculture, sustainable living, and what it takes to for communities to thrive.

Their experiences at Green Gulch inspired them to create an intentional community devoted to cultivating resilient, sustainable, and loving relationships with the land, one another, and within themselves. After months of searching, they found 282 acres in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains where eleven of us now live and steward the land.

Just as the land needs ongoing attention and care, tending to our relationships is a primary focus at Full Bloom. We nourish our “ground of health” through community meals, games, and weekly meetings and sharing circles.

We also tend to our relationships by meeting conflict as an opportunity for personal and collective healing and transformation. In doing so, we not only strengthen the connections between us, but are supported to learn and grow into our most integrated selves.
